ProfileChristopher Layton has been providing locum optometry services to the community of independent optometrists in Australia and the United Kingdom for 10 years. He was trained in academic research at Oxford University and his particular clinical interests are diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and dry eye disease. He is the author of multiple papers on these topics in the scientific literature. Chris is a member of the Optometrists Association of Australia and the Australian Medical Association. He is registered as a Medical Practitioner in the UK and Australia and as an Optometrist and Contact Lens Practitioner in Queensland, Australia. As such he is fully qualified to prescribe topical and systemic therapeutics to patients under the PBS in Australia. He is available to work clinically to cover occasional days only in the Brisbane and South East Queensland areas and is available Australia wide for industry consulting.
